For the second year in a row, East Olympia received the Special Recognition Math Growth Washington Achievement Award from the State of Washington's Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. This award is earned by scoring in the top 5% of a 3-year average. Way to go students, staff and families!
At the School Board meeting on April 13th, the Tumwater School Board of Directors adopted Resolution 09-16-17 titled "Affirming the Provision of Safe, Welcoming and Inclusive Schools for All Students." In response to continued news stories and heightened anxiety in some of our student populations and/or their families, the Board felt it was important to respond as the leaders and policy-makers of the District. One of the statements in the resolution reaffirms the District's commitment to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for every student, without regard to their race, religion, national origin, or immigration status. The District has a Strategic Planning Goal that by 2021, all Tumwater families will have access to high quality early learning services which help prepare students for Kindergarten. If you have children in your home ages 0-5, please take a moment and complete this service (it will take less than ten minutes). Tumwater School District is looking for substitute bus drivers for student transportation. Please contact our Transportation Supervisor, Cally Stroud, at 360-709-7703 to express your interest. The District can provide training for you to receive your Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
