Continuous Student Learning in a Caring, Engaging Environment

Welcome

Tumwater School District provides a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment for students.  Our academic focus is based on four questions:  What do we want each student to learn?  How will we know if each student is learning it?  How will we respond when a student is experiencing difficulty?  How will we respond if the student already knows it?

  • Bob Barclift resigns from Tumwater Board of Directors after 53 years of total service to the District.

At the September 22, 2016 School Board meeting, Robert (Bob) Barclift, Tumwater School District's Board Vice President, the third longest-serving School Director in the history of Tumwater, announced that he will be resigning his position from Position 4, Tumwater School Board of Directors, to be effective October 1, 2016. Bob was first elected to the Board in 1993 and has been re-elected to continuously serve the District for the past 23 years. He returned to Tumwater and served as a classroom teacher, principal and then Board member. Superintendent John Bash added "The amazing history of service Bob leaves behind is something he can be very proud of and has been a generous gift to the Tumwater community. He will be missed."
