Continuous Student Learning in a Caring, Engaging Environment

Welcome

Tumwater School District provides a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment for students.  Our academic focus is based on four questions:  What do we want each student to learn?  How will we know if each student is learning it?  How will we respond when a student is experiencing difficulty?  How will we respond if the student already knows it?

  • Tumwater Hill Elementary Teacher Receives $2,500 Academic Award

Janet Schloz (4th Grade Teacher at Tumwater Hill Elementary - pictured center) received quite a surprise at a recent staff meeting! She was presented with a $2,500 Academic Award from California Casualty. Every dollar counts in the classroom. National surveys find educators spend an average of $500 each year of their own funds, with many spending much more, for classroom supplies and materials. Recognizing the effect of tight school budgets, the California Casualty Academic Award was created in 2012 to help instructors purchase necessary items and fund projects. KIRO7 News was there to cover the event CLICK HERE to view the story from our Facebook page.
